Martin App V2

It’s been almost a year since we launched v1 of Martin on the App Store. All it could do then was chat with you through voice, and send notes from your conversations to your email. Soon after, we added reminders and search.

Over the course of Q1-Q3 of 2024, we gave Martin plenty of new integrations, letting him access your calendars, manage your inbox, and even ping people in Slack on your behalf.

But until now, we have not changed the core interface. You just open Martin, and start talking with your voice.

A whole new UI

For the past year, our app was essentially a phone interface. But as we added more integrations, and Martin’s use cases got more expansive, the need for a new UI became apparent.

For example, if you’re asking Martin to reply to an email, you might want to read over the draft and have the option to edit it manually before sending.

After many conversations with users and iterations on new designs, we’ve given the Martin iOS app a total makeover! Martin now has a text chat, spiced up with widgets and shortcuts.

Text chat & widgets

You can now outsource tasks to Martin directly in a text chat. Before Martin executes something important, like sending an email or text message, he'll confirm all the details with you in a neat little widget. If the content is not to your satisfaction, just ask Martin to make the necessary changes, right in the chat.

Shortcuts for quick commands

Shortcuts are about a dozen buttons floating on top of your keyboard in the chat. Need Martin to fetch your to-dos or recent emails? Just tap a shortcut, add any additional context, and off Martin goes executing your request.

A calendar event, Gmail draft, or reminder can also be generated in just a couple of taps with this new UI.

Onboarding screen with preset shortcuts above the keyboard.

Voice Mode V2

Of course, we’re not saying goodbye to our original form factor — we love voice as much as you do!

A brand new faster and more precise voice mode is just 1 click away from the home screen. The UI has been completely redesigned, and you can now switch voices, speaking speeds, and modes seamlessly mid-session. Got your hands full? Turn on handsfree mode.

This brand new version of Martin is live on the App Store now (version 1.5.0 or later). As always, we love hearing your feedback. Bug reports, feature requests, or a killer use case you discovered - let us know! Email us at founders@trymartin.com, tag us in Discord, or just tell Martin to pass along a message and he’ll ping us right away.
