Martin can now text contacts on your behalf!
May 12, 2024
Today, we're announcing a major feature that has been in the works for many months now: your Martin can now communicate with people on your behalf, via SMS!
This isn't "hey Siri, text Bob I'll be there in 5." Martin uses his own phone number and carries out a full conversation with your contact based on your instructions, with high intelligence and reasoning!
Let's watch someone named Darwin arrange a meeting with his co-worker Erica using his Martin.
Step 1: Darwin starts a 'New Conversation' with Erica in the Martin app:
From Erica's POV, it's just like she's texting Darwin's secretary:
Step 2: Already knowing Darwin's schedule, Martin automatically texts with Erica to set up the meeting.

Step 3: In the Martin app, Darwin can monitor the conversation between his Martin and Erica in real time:

During conversations with contacts, your Martin will not have access to any of your synced integrations except for viewing your calendar's availability if it's a scheduling task. This means you don't have to worry about a contact manipulating your Martin to do things.
Step 4: Once the conversation with Erica is done, Martin proactively reports back to Darwin:
You can configure your Martin to report back to you via SMS, email, or an app notification.
Try it out: Start outsourcing your communications to Martin by tapping the messages icon at the top left of your Martin app!
Once you activate this feature, your Martin will get a unique phone number which, in the future, your contacts can text to reach your Martin, as opposed to another colleague's Martin. Due to the high costs of creating new phone numbers, we are only opening up this feature to active paying subscribers.
We're so excited for you to try out this new communications use case for Martin!
As usual, don't hesitate to email me with feedback at dawson@trymartin.com or just tap 'Give Feedback' in the app. Can't wait to hear what you think of Social Martin!
Yours,
Dawson (Co-founder at Martin)
